In a shocking event in the Tadiyawan police jurisdiction of Hardoi district, a young man reportedly attacked his mother with a sickle, resulting in her death and leaving his younger sister injured. This information was disclosed by the police on Saturday.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred in the village of Bholpurwa, where 35-year-old Amit engaged in a heated argument with his mother, Ramrati, aged 60, and his sister, Sangeeta, who is 25. During this altercation, Amit, in a fit of rage, struck both women with the sickle, causing severe injuries.
Family members rushed the victims to the district hospital for treatment. However, due to the critical condition of Ramrati, doctors referred her to a medical college. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment, while Sangeeta continues to receive care.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Circle Officer Ajit Chauhan arrived at the scene with a police team. He confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Initial investigations revealed that the accused, Amit, had been suffering from mental health issues for some time and was undergoing treatment.
